CEPPWAWU INPUT ON BWI AFRO & GLOBAL CONVERSATION ON COVID19 ZOOM MEETING
Introduction
Covid-19 is both a health and socio-economic crisis that affects vulnerable groups much more severely. The impact of the crisis differs, depending on where you live, your job situation, your gender, age, class, ethnicity and access to health services. In South Africa, with high levels of poverty, and significant levels of HIV and TB, with associated poor living conditions, working class and poor people are particularly vulnerable. This requires responses to Covid-19 that are pro-working class and gender sensitive.
